Terms of Service

PCS Swaps is an independent marketplace where military families list and find household goods around a permanent change of station. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the Department of Defense or any branch of service.

You must be 18 or older to create an account, and you agree to give accurate profile and base information. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Keep your password private and tell us if you think someone else has access to it.

Every listing is posted by a member, not by PCS Swaps. We do not own, inspect, warehouse or ship any item. Titles, photos, condition claims, prices and pickup arrangements are the seller's responsibility. Buyers should inspect an item before paying the seller.

A hold is a small deposit that reserves an item and unlocks the seller's contact details. The hold deposit is a platform service charge — it is not the purchase price and it is not held in escrow for the seller. The item's price is settled directly between buyer and seller, off platform. Hold deposits are non-refundable, because the service is delivered the moment the item is reserved and contact details are released. See the fee disclosure for current amounts.

• Weapons, ammunition, explosives, and regulated military property.
• Government-issued equipment you do not personally own.
• Alcohol, tobacco, controlled substances, prescription items, and live animals.
• Counterfeit goods, stolen goods, or anything you cannot legally transfer.
• Harassment, discrimination, scam attempts, or moving payment off platform to avoid our protections.

We may remove listings, restrict accounts, or refuse service where we reasonably believe these rules or the law have been broken.

Meet in a public place or an approved on-installation area, bring your ID card where required, and keep negotiations inside PCS Swaps messages so there is a record. Never wire money, share banking credentials, or send personal documents to another member.

You can report a listing, message, or member at any time, and you can mute or block another member from your conversation or their profile. Blocking stops messages in both directions. Our moderators review reports and may restrict accounts.

You keep ownership of your photos and listing text. You grant PCS Swaps a non-exclusive licence to display, resize, and share that content to operate and promote the marketplace, including in link previews and search results.

The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, PCS Swaps is not liable for disputes between members, item condition, missed pickups, or any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the previous twelve months.
